Can't comment on dinner other than it's very expensive. But the breakfast buffet is amazing. If you are at the hotel, breakfast is complimentary. French toast, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, strudel, yogurt, and fruits. Very delicious

The menu is NOTHING like advertised on the web. The girl who waited on us was sweet and kind but clearly had never been trained. She was functioning as the hostess/waitress/bartender! She was a horrible bar tender. We paid for our drinks and went elsewhere for dinner. Save your time and go somewhere else first.

UGH! First of all, the hostess asked us if we had a reservation when there were only three other couples in the whole place. To me that seemed kind of rude. Second of all, what kind of restaurant doesn't play background music while you're eating? I'll tell you, Enigma. The name fits the restaurant. Honestly, I was so confused and slightly afraid to talk. It was so quite, I felt like everyone there could hear our conversation. We sat there whispering the whole time. Ok, let's get down to the food. I had the butternut squash ravioli with the truffle oil and sage brown butter sauce. Sounds delicious right? Mediocre. It had a strange taste and I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong. I just knew something didn't go with the other flavors. The dish was appealing to the eye but lacked the cohesive flavors I was so excited about. My boyfriend had the steak and I felt so bad watching him cut off all the fat. He barely had a meal left after he was done. It came with fries which I found strange but they were very good. I believe they had parmesan cheese baked on them. Yum! Really when it comes down to it, the only redeeming quality to this place was the truffle mac and cheese. Absolutely amazing! So creamy with excellent flavor combinations. The only real reason this review gets two stars instead of one. If the place is empty, there's a reason. Head down the road to Murphy's Pub!

I've eaten here hundreds of times. The meal we had tonight was our last. We recommended an out of town vendor who wanted to host our office staff bring us here. To put it mildly, we were totally embarrassed. The Elk Tenderloin served to 3 of our party of 9 was 2 ounces, I am not exaggerating. It was an unbelievably small portion. To add insult to injury, they were all over cooked. When the whole table complained to the hostess and server, their reply was, "Take it up wth the food and beverage manager." No offer to refire, no offer to reduce the check, no offer to bring something else. Those of us who didn't order the Elk cut off portions of our meals so the others had something more to eat. Our host said he has never seen a table complain so bitterly and the hostess not offer to do a thing about it. In addition to this the service was slow. Not another table was in the restaurant and it still took over 2 hours to get our entrees. Never, ever, again. They've lost a solid, long-time patron.

Service was excellent. Menu was varied with lots of interesting choices. Preparation was 5 star with delicious sauces. Setting was elegant but not pretentious. Sure it was not inexpensive, but we didn't expect it. We weren't looking for a pizza joint we were looking for a quiet, gourmet meal.

My husband and I have been here three times in the last year. The prices seem high at first but OMG is it worth it?! The food (different meals each time) is amazing! Cooked great and looks great! Tastes even better. The appetizers are awesome and the desserts... My favorite is the icecream with black pepper on it! Sounds odd but so good! We love this place! Every time our server was Joel and I am so happy we get him (I'm sure all the staff is just as friendly) but he was the most stand out server I've ever had. Very professional but still able to relate on a more personal level. Can't wait to go back!!

We ordered an appetizer and a salad both were excellent. Bison short ribs and Harvest salad. We had two cocktails and thought it was a good price for our meal. It also had an nice atmosphere.

Way overpriced for the quality of food. Salmon fillet was probably 3 ounces (being generous there.) We were offered a seat immediately but we had reservations, so the server who greeted us said "Okay, the hostess will be right up" then we had to wait a good bit for her to show up. Is it typical to pay up front for an establishment serving $30-40 entrees? $94 and i would rather have gone to Perkins (seriously)

WOW how many waiters look at the tip IN FRONT OF YOU???? We went to this restaurant, white on vacation and staying at the attached hotel, which was a mistake. We ordered from the "organic" menu...I seriously doubt any of it was organic...maybe the beef but I doubt it. My husband got a gigantic fatty steak (supposed to be a lean cut) on a bed of french fries and I got a decently cooked filet with squished potatoes, supposed to be something fancy but just looked squished. Our kids had grilled cheese sandwiches that weren't very grilled. We eat organic at home, and we were excited to have organic food after 10 days on the road without any organic food...but we were disappointed. The service was minimal, the server came and got our order and finally came back to deliver the meals. He didn't come back to give us water or bread. We finished our dinner, uninterrupted and thirsty, and the waiter brought us back the bill. My husband immediately paid, and the waiter picked up the bill and LOOKED AT WHAT HE WROTE!!!! OMG We've gone to crappy restaurants and awesome restaurants & NO ONE LOOKS AT THE TIP!!!

We stopped in for lunch. It is in a hotel and is quite a bit on the fine dining side. There were the usual business types there for lunch and the ladies groups. I had the Buffalo Burger and my wife had the Rainbow Trout. Both dishes were fixed to perfection and tasted great. The only reason for just three stars was the poor service by our waiter. He did not ask how I wanted the burger cooked or what side I wanted. He was absent most of the time and I had to ask another waitress for ketchup and another server to request that he find my waiter so that I could get my bill. Very poor service for this type of establishment.

Worst service and meal in Rapid City. Took the family for Easter Brunch. The waiter took our drink order and never returned. We had to reach out to other servers to get assistance and took it upon ourselves to locate the buffets. The food was sub par with the exception of the prime rib which was actually really good. There is a zero percent potential return from this family for any meal.

We enjoy coming to Enigma for special occasions. It's a little pricey in comparison to many places, but the food, drinks, and service are always very good. A very pleasant place to dine.

My fiance and I decided to come here for breakfast. They serve breakfast until 11 AM, we walk in at 10 AM, the hostess says they have already started cleaning up but we can eat if we don't tell anyone what time we walked in. She seats us at a table and then tells us we can only have the leftovers from the buffet, since the kitchen is closing down (an hour early!). We look over at the buffet and there is hardly any food left, none of it fresh looking. We weren't even offered a menu. We have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. Too bad a manager wasn't present to witness this, I guess our business was not wanted! Went over to Colonial House instead, delicious as always!

Went there for a birthday only 8 people. The private room was nice, white table cloth and nice dinner ware. But that's where it stopped. The waiters put on a show and barked about how good their chiefs where. The waiters are very overwhelming and talk a lot. I ordered the steak which was dry and over cooked. The portion for the expensive price was embarrassing. My friend ordered the chicken. They completely forgot about her order when they did bring it out it was completely raw! Not one dish on the table was properly prepared. The veggies on the plate where over cooked and you could tell they were warmed up for the plate. The drinks are expensive and took forever to get refilled. The waiters felt bad about the chicken and offered her another plate she picked the scallops. By the time she got any of her food the whole party was done eating.

Had Easter brunch there and the food was excellent! The service was also wonderful. The only drawback was the traffic flow for the buffet was a little awkward and would get backed up with people waiting at the omelet station. I will definitely be going back there and I look forward to trying their organic lunch and dinner items!

Lively meal. The seafood curry was prepared spot on. The vegetables were perfectly warm and crisp. The service was spotty. The manager made several visits that the server should have. Good dining experience.

Friendly attentive service and unusual dishes highlight the menu. However, the who experience is far less than the "organic" facade that they are trying to present. That said; the dining room in the Adoba Echo Hotel is excellent. Leek Torte with blue cheese and figs was excellent as was the tomato chive soup. Entreets of Chicken Taggine with couscous and Scallops were also excellent.

Lunch was pretty good - ordered grilled salmon and grilled ham/cheese. What killed the experience was the service. Our waiter spoke broken English and was very awkward, i.e., stood at the table without saying anything for a good 15 seconds (just long enough to be weird) until we guided him into ordering. We saw him for three visits - order, deliver, check. No follow up to ask if we were enjoying our meal or if we needed anything else.I was expecting a little more from what I had heard about this place, but will probably stick to Botticelli's, given the price.
